#15 Linda is interviewed on “Food Junkies” podcast

Linda, is that you in the photos??!!

Yes, indeed. The upper picture shows me at age 2, with my mother, probably at the Los Angeles zoo. What am I doing? Eating ice cream, of course.

In the bottom shot I’m about 7 years old or so, obviously starting to put on the belly fat. The smile masks my profound unhappiness at that point. And I hated the haircut! Typically, I sulked when pictures were snapped.

Today I offer not a blog post, but a podcast interview. I was invited to share my “addiction” story for the podcast Food Junkies, a community and group of counselors, researchers, and academics who are trying, with noted scholars and clinicians from all around the world, to increase the awareness about “food addiction” (sugar? ultra-processed food?) and get it accepted as a real diagnosis, a “thing.” I tell my life story around food, share strategies, and discuss some of the terminology and important authors in the field with the fabulous host, C.J. Nguy.
